The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Baking at home is one of my favourite activities simply because I believe that there is no substitute to home baked goodies. However the person who is behind most of my baking expeditions is my daughter who is blessed with a sweet-tooth and finds it quiet an engaging activity as well. It is also a great way to familiarise kids with number and quantities.  I have tried many chocolate cookie recipes but believe that this one has the best taste.  While baking the aroma is scrumptious. Few things can replace the pleasures of warm home-baked cookies and a cool glass of milk. This one certainly takes the cake, I mean cookie. Also our stuff is as good as the ingredients that we use, my favourite chocolate chips are from Cadbury and Nestle.  Once baked these are divine. This recipe is courtesy of Donna Hay, one of the best in baking.

The mini m&m's and the cookie cutter generated shapes are courtesy of my little helper.

Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 150g dark chocolate morsels
  2. 1 teaspoon baking powder, sifted
  3. 2 cups (300g) plain (all-purpose) flour, sifted
  4. 2 eggs , at room temperature
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 135g brown sugar
  7. 180g unsalted butter, softened
Method

  1. Heat oven at 180
  2. Beat butter and sugar together until creamy.
  3. Gradually add eggs, beat.
  4. Sieve flour and add sugar to the previous mixture. Mix.
  5. Now add chocolate morsel and mix. A dough will be formed
  6. Mould into balls and shape according to preference.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
My Tip: Leave sufficient space between the cookies while baking, as they grow in size.
